We all have heard about the effects of war in our ancient history. The history books that formed a major part of our academic field have also contributed in knowing various facts related to our ancestors and their trouble. During World War II people of the world were equipped with various types of rations with regards to clothing, food, petrol and furniture. Whether the elements are essential or non essential, people got the products in abundant. There are many histories related to World War 2 rationing. Germans wish to make the British weak by cutting off the supplies of food and clothing The submarines from Germany have attacked various ships which came to supply food and other supplies to Britain. There was an import of 55 million tons of food by Britain. Just a month after the war the 55 million have dropped down to a figure of 12. Rationing was really very important for all the people living in Britain during the war period. The government has issued ration books to every citizen of the country. The ration books contain coupon through which the government can keep a track about the number of people who have been supplied with food. The shopkeeper uses the ration book to ensure that the particular person has availed food source from the shop. He either signs on the ration book or put a mark so that he can get a track of supply on the next ration date. There are various kinds of ration books displayed within the public as per World War 2 rationing schedule. All people cannot avail a similar type of ration books. The green color ration books are used by pregnant women, under 5 years' children of age and nursing mothers. Ration book with blue color cover is for all the children within the age limit of 5 to 19 years. Majority of adults are seen to hold buff colored ration books.
Government has issued the ration books to make the fair share of food available in the country. World War 2 rationing involves distribution of food according to the class of people available in the society. Even the rate of ration varies as per the ration card of the individual. There are many poor people who will not be in a status to get things in a price that is put for all. Thus, government has quoted a minimum price for them so that they can easily carry on with their minimum necessities of life. |

In the twenty-first century, people have become very advanced. The life and clothes of people have changed a lot. Now the lives of people have become more comfortable. In 1940 most people used to travel by horse. However, people in the twenty first century travels by cars or motorcycles. The mentality of the people has changed with the time.
